WA#5 Wedding

It’s twelve thirty, the wedding started at twelve fifteen. I can’t believe I’m late to my own brother’s wedding. Is it at the church over on Park Street or is it that big old church over by the stadium? Let’s pick the big old one by the stadium, it’s closer.
Alright here we are I think this is it. Do I have everything? Oh man this bow tie looks ridiculous. Whatever, I have to get in there.
Holy Jesus these doors are heavy, you’d think with all these old people they’d have some lighter doors.
“Oh hello there grandma, how are you? I know I’m late grandma, got held up at home. Oh I know it looks ridiculous, Johnny picked it out. I know I know I’m going.”
Wow, there are a lot of people there. Oh including the bride’s sisters, hello there. Oh here we go, there’s a little wink. Oh wow she didn’t like that.
There’s ol’ Johnny, I can’t believe he’s getting married and I can’t believe I’m late.
“Hey Johnny, sorry I’m late” he looks a bit pissed.
“Hey you shmuck, bout time you got here. Got the ring?”
HOLY HELL! I forgot the ring, oh no, what am I gonna do? It’s sitting right on my dresser at home, oh hot damn.
“Oh yeah, I just forgot it in the car. Excuse me for a sec while I retrieve the precious” I can’t believe I just lied so hard, I better hurry.
This is such a long church, why did it have to be here. It makes this a whole lot more awkward for me now. Holy cow, grandma looks pissed. Alright let me quicken my pace a bit.
Again with these doors, I feel like my arm is going to get ripped off. What a nice day it is and look at my beautiful black Stang sitting glowing with glory. Alright baby, let’s start her up.
PUTTPUTT POW!
You’ve gotta be kidding me!? Alright I guess I’ll have to run back to the house to get the ring. Oh ouch, those ankles don’t like those dress shoes. Wow, starting to work up a sweat. Breathe, breathe, and breathe. Alright keep on going, we’re almost there.
Here we are, oh wow I need to fix those shudders. Here I go up the stairs and THERE’S THE RING! Here I go down the stairs and I’m gone. It’s twelve forty five; Johnny is probably giving birth to a small cow right now. Alright sprint legs sprint! Faster legs! Breathe, breathe, and breathe some more. I SEE THE CHURCH!
The holy heavy doors yet again.
“Grandma, Hello again! Yes I know” such a sweetie she is.
There he is, he’s so damn happy right now. Oh man I might start crying. Oh no, don’t do it, stay strong.
“Got it?”
“Yea…here” keep it in, don’t breakdown.
“I love you brother”
“OH GOD I LOVE YOU TOO BROTHER!” Oh that was a bit too much, wow that felt good.
“Sorry, go on” Oh here it is and the ring is on! I wonder if the bride’s sister is going to be at the reception.

WA4 2nd Draft

Dear Mr. Obama,

As you receive the title of President you also inherit a number of dilemmas that our former president either created or ignored entirely throughout his long, long, long term. Out of war and an economic there is still one problem that can be seen throughout. Global Climate change is truly happening and is beginning to affect the whole world. If there isn’t immediate change than the soldiers and people of Iraq will feel the effects, the stock brokers swarming the streets of Wall Street will be sweating a little more than usual. It will ultimately lead to the destruction of any and all civilized society. It is vital that someone in this world takes the role to make change and make a transformation to a cleaner healthier environment.
Some professionals have projected that the next world war will be over clean drinkable water. Thousands of species will become extinct which may include certain species of algae that are having an incredible role in the carbon cycle. If the sea surface temperature raises a small increment of two degrees many species of algae will become extinct nearly doubling the amount of carbon in the atmosphere due to the loss of these important characters involved in the carbon cycle. You’ve been preaching the idea of change and that is exactly what the world needs right now.
Many countries have already begun to act on this climate change issue from a hydrogen fuel based society to new bills created to reduce CO2 emissions. Our very own California has just passed the AB-32 bill that plans to reduce CO2 emissions by 80% come the year 2050. This bill resembles another that was just past in the United Kingdom. This is just the first step in the long process to create a healthier world environment. The next steps should involve hydrogen fuel cell cars that should be introduced to the American public as something of the present not something of the future; for far too long that problems have been set aside for the future and we can no longer ignore these potentially devastating problems.
To me the future of the U.S. is a country with hillsides full of wind turbines and fields littered with solar panels. These various alternative energy sources should be incorporated into the environment in a way that is safe for every nearby species. The first settlers passed on stories of how beautiful the Americas were when they arrived on their ships. They told of the crystal clear Chesapeake Bay with enormous clams lining the bottom and giant schools of fish swimming in what is now a habitat that is threatened by over fishing. They spoke of colossal forests that lined this bay and of the peaceful people that lived on the land that is now one of the most feared countries in the world. All of these accounts sound like fairy tales and most of these sights will never be seen by the people of this modern western world but it is our job to keep what we have now so we can show our children’s children how incredible the world can really be. It is time to take the first steps towards a healthier world by putting what you’ve been preaching into action, change.

Sincerely,
Daniel Intolubbe-Chmil

WA#4

Dear Mr. Obama,

As you may know the world is currently going through an incredible series of environmental changes. As you take the title as presidency it is vital that you take the responsibility to create what you’ve been preaching all along, change. If certain actions of change are not taken, the world may reach a point where some of the damages will become irreversible. Some people argue whether these changes are truly taking place, but recently it has been scientifically proven that these climate changes are happening and are being forecasted to accumulate until species are extinct, glaciers are melted, the ozone destroyed, and in the very end an inhabitable unhealthy planet.
Some of the main changes that you have suggested yourself have been the usage of alternative energy sources. The usage of alternative energy sources would save the atmosphere of billions of tons of CO2 per year and would improve the condition of the world as a whole. There are endless ideas for alternative energy sources from tidal turbines to solar panels. In the Midwest, for example Kansas, there are miles and miles of windy plains that would be ideal for wind turbines. The barren desert in the southwest of the U.S. is a perfect place for solar panels. Creating these alternative energy plants would not only provide clean energy but also provide new jobs for many U.S. citizens.
The U.S. is an example for the rest of the world usually having a great impact with every decision we make. If certain actions are taken then it could spark a worldwide movement to a better cleaner planet. This planet has been good to us and there is no reason why we, the world as one population, shouldn’t be good to it. As the mining and drilling continue all the limited resources we become less and less yet the greenhouse gases and other pollution becomes more and more. We have to realize that we need to find other ways to produce energy or the world will run out of resources such as oil and coal.
To me this seems to be the greatest problem because it doesn’t only affect the United States, but the whole world. The solutions are endless and the global economy would flourish if a transition is achieved from fossil fuel dependency to alternative energy sources. The auto industry has already begun to create hybrid electric cars and cars running off of hydrogen producing nothing but clean water. If these new creations continue to advance soon there will be hydrogen stations in place of gas stations and a cleaner atmosphere instead of holes in the ozone.
Something that showed me the disgusting effect fossil fuels had on the planet was the great smog cloud over Denver, Colorado. I was on a family ski trip in Colorado and as we were driving along the Front Range my father pointed out the brown cloud hovering above the distant city of Denver. I couldn’t stop looking at the giant smog cloud and it made me want to do whatever I could to stop worldwide pollution. But something this great needs to be achieved small step by small step. As I right this letter to you the night before your inauguration I hope that this is one of the many small steps that will accumulate into a possible global movement.

Sincerely,
Daniel Intolubbe-Chmil

Writing Assignment Draft2

A peace of the beast
Uproar of the beast
Cry evil to the beast
Cry evil in the least

We cannot grasp it
We cannot achieve it
We only loose it
We only abuse it.

The peace is burden
The burden is heavy
The heavy is building
The building is falling

The beasts took it
The beasts destroyed it
The animals lost it
The animals forgot it

The hate we make
Burns the love we create
And the love we create
Came a little too late

It cries through the
Dark blinds the
Beasts falls to the
Shadows under it all

We only think it
We only say it
We never do it
We never believe it

Writing Assignment #4?

A Peace of the Beast
The peace of human kind
Nor good nor evil
Only a figment of your imagination
In your simple little mind.

We cannot grasp it
We cannot achieve it
We only loose it
We only abuse it.

The peace that once ruled
Over animals and beasts
Exterminated through greed and lust
The victims of the beast fooled.

The beasts took it
The beasts destroyed it
The animals lost it
The animals forgot it

The peace that has caused death
Fires and blazing bullets
Tormenting anyone in its path
Giving no ones time to catch breath

The peace wept it
The peace burned it
The peace murdered it
The peace did nothing

We made this peace
The peace didn’t make us
Therefore we must make peace
Because peace doesn’t make us

Final Draft

Two eyes peered out of a small box filled with darkness. The Being in the box listened to evil tunes in slow minor key at the beat raindrops. The raindrops came from a dark gloomy sky that looked upon the Being inside the box.
The Being dreamt of little daisies singing lullabies and a little angel beating its wings. The daisies danced amok in his mind skipping to the childish tunes. They stomped on the angel’s wings as it repeatedly tried to fly away.
The Being had no one to hold, no one to talk to, to one to be. The only thing he had was an evil spirit that lurked in his mind, in his heart, in his soul. The devil it could be or just the horrific memories of his past. The Being had no where to leave this evil spirit, tied down by chains and locks created in the darkest hottest pits of Hell. Attempting to break the chains the Being ripped and pealed away his skin to a point where he was no longer recognizable. His feet torn to pieces, looked up at him screaming with anger. Screaming dead thoughts that brought back the darkest of memories. The murdering murderer that murdered who he loved the most. The loving lovers that loved him the most were now dead but still beating in the wings of an angel. An angel that was trying to fly away but couldn’t. Suddenly the angel inside the Being batted its wings one last time and flew to the air. It rose up and up and up until it obliterated the heavens into a million pieces.
The Being looked up and saw a sunny sky. He looked out and saw a field of daisies. He looked down and saw no chains. The Being got up and stepped into a real life. It was a life where the Being could no longer be held down by chains and taunting memories but a life where he could just be.

WA #2 1st Draft: Once upon some time

Once upon some time, some place, somewhere, a boy sat in a box. A box the size of a normal house but had no doors and only one window that let in no light. In the box the boy sat in a blank white room staring out into a dark stormy sky. Raindrops tapped at the window whispering little secrets to every corner in the room. The boy sat in an old wooden chair. He rubbed the splintered wood with his little boy fingers. In his mind he dreamt of sunny days with his father and mother, but past his mind a force kept him from his dreams. He could not stand up, he could not move. A single light occupied his mind and all he could do was dream his little penny sized dreams.

Sitting upon the windowsill was a small potted daisy with petals the size of an infant’s fingernail. The white petals sat there in a group laughing at the boy sitting all alone. Every minute that went by a petal fell to the ground and smoldered to an ash from the burning sorrows oozing from the floors. Another petal replaces the last one singing the same taunting song to the lonely boy.

Oh little boy,

Where are they?

Where could they be?

No one but you,

Dreams the dreams,

The devil dreams too.

The song went with the beat of the raindrops and the maddening tone of the room drove the little boy crazy. Left alone in this cage, like a beast, like a murderer. The white ceiling closed down on him and the dark melodies poisoned his troubled mind, trying to reach for the window but nothing moved. He looked down at his feet and his shoes took shape of a mouth, “Dream you a dead dream!” one foot cried, “Kill like he killed them!” moaned the other. His fingers ripped from his hands flying to the shadows but finding none. Frightened fingers searched for shelter and took to the petals. A daisy with fingers as petals grabbed for the soul of the boy. It reached into his head and felt around the burnt crusty memories. Every time a finger reached further for a dream the burnt memories fell into the hole where his heart used to be. He looked into his own eyes and saw the devil looking right back.

In the boy’s soul, that was in his heart that was on the floor that was in this blank white box was a little angel beating tired wings. The angel reached for a small hole in the boy’s soul and took flight. He broke out and tore for the sky but met a ceiling oozing a burning sorrow and drop to the floor in a million ashes.

The petals stopped singing and the rain stopped beating. Through a crack made by the dead angel sunlight crept through and met the boy’s face. He opened his eyes and reached for the light. It grabbed him pulling him out of his blank white box and for the first time he knew what it felt like to be free.
